Gender & Diversity Lunch with Jun.-Prof. Dr. Cécile Stephanie Stehrenberger (Bergische Universität Wuppertal)

Jun.-Prof. Dr. Cécile Stephanie Stehrenberger is junior professor for historical-comparative science and technology research at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. She studied history, economics and philosophy at the University of Zurich and the Universitat de Barcelona and received her PhD with a thesis on "Francos Tänzerinnen auf Auslandstournee. Gender, Nation und Folklore im colonial encounter". Intersecting the history of science and sociology, her current research projects address the history of social science disaster research in the Cold War, social science contributions to the COVID-19 crisis, and toxic waste sites in West Africa from the 1980s to the present. Her research perspectives and methodological approaches include approaches to decolonial and feminist science and technology studies, intersectionality theories, and knowledge production and transmission in exhibitions and city tours.

The input will be in English, questions can be asked and answered in English or in German.

About the series:

The “Gender & Diversity Lunch” series invites all members of the CRC “Media of Cooperation” and “Transformations of the Popular” to an exchange on current topics and issues in the fields of gender equality, diversity and the compatibility of family and science. The goal of the series is to facilitate networking between CRC members and individuals from different fields and with different biographical experiences. A guest on a particular topic is invited to each event. The series is held at lunchtime, including a snack. Suggestions for topics and guests are always welcome.
