Whether we’re speaking in person with a group or in the online environment, confidence matters. In this workshop we define confidence as the ability to relax and be ourselves when we speak. Presenting isn’t viewed as a performance, a way of ‘acting’ a professional role, but as an opportunity to be authentic, connect with others, and share something that matters. We forget about the polish, gloss, and bullet-proof perfectionism, and relax into being natural, responsive, and engaged. It’s a more grounded place to be. And when you can stand on the firm ground of inner confidence, you’ll be clearer and more persuasive, you’ll enjoy yourself more – and you’ll get your scientific message across with more impact.
This is a highly interactive workshop using discussion, individual and group exercises, and short presentations with feedback. Expect to …
• strengthen your core confidence
• develop your professional presence
Speakers and presenters of all levels of experience are welcome. Just bring an attitude of open curiosity and a willingness to try something new, and you might be surprised by what is possible.
IMPORTANT: When you register, you are committing to take part in all the sessions of the workshop. If for some important reason you will be late to a session (such as an emergency doctor’s appointment), please let Millie Baker know as soon as possible.
