The panel will feature perceptions of the expert jour­nalists, writers, and researchers on changing techno­logy and plat­forms with a special focus on arti­ficial intelli­gence applica­tions and algo­rithms in Türkiye. Secondly, the panel will continue with discussions on cultural hege­mony and counter-hegemony, concluding with the sharing of best prac­tices on the use of media, techno­logy, and culture in achieving just social trans­formation.

Füsun Üstel (academician, IKSV advisory board member).
Graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science. Worked at Marmara Univer­sity Public Adminis­tration depart­ment (French) and Galata­saray Univer­sity, Depart­ment of Political Science. Member of the Advisory Board of IKSV Kültür Hattı. Published articles and books mainly on natio­nalism, citizen­ship and cultural politics.

Hasan Akbulut (academician, board member of sinecine)
Akbulut received his academic training in adult educa­tion, culture and arts sciences, social work, and cinema. Akbulut, who has many national and inter­national publica­tions, is a member of the edito­rial board of sinecine, and still works as a professor at Istanbul University, Faculty of Communi­cation.

Süreyya Karacabey (academician, column writer)
Graduated from Ankara University, DTCF Theatre Depart­ment in 1992, and completed her MA and PhD there. She worked as an acade­mician until 2017 when she was dismissed from her work with a decree. She published books and articles on her area; moderated work­shops on writing theatre plays. She also wrote columns at Ayrıntı magazine and Artı Gerçek news site.

Şenay Aydemir (journalist, column writer and author)
Born in 1975 in Şavşat. His graduation is from politics and economy. Since 1997, he worked in the Evrensel, Referans and Radikal news­papers and for Gazete Duvar and Artı Gerçek online news sites as jour­nalist, editor, film critic and author as well as wrote in Evrensel Kültür, Milliyet Sanat, Arka Pencere ve Altyazı magazines. His recent book is “AKP’nin Kültür Savaşı: İmha ve İnkar Kıskacında Sanat”.

Şebnem Kırmacı (founder and editor in chief of Art Dog İstanbul magazine)
Graduated from Bilkent University, English Language and Litera­ture, has a MA degree in Communi­cation and Jour­nalism from Univer­sity of North London. He worked as an editor of the maga­zine titled Harper’s Bazaar for 8 years starting from 2024. She worked as the editor in chief of İstanbul Art News IAN.Chronicle from 2014 to 2019.
